INTRODUCING THE 2024 BROCK PRIZE LAUREATE, MICHAEL M. CROW

Dr. Michael M. Crow is the president of Arizona State University (ASU), where he has made significant contributions in the field of education, including his role in reimagining the university as an institution that is both widely accessible and excellent in all measures.

Upon assuming the presidency of ASU in 2002, Crow took this simple yet provocative idea and embarked on a mission to reanimate the purpose of higher education, shaping ASU into what is now known as the New American University. This innovative concept positioned ASU as an egalitarian, public research institution committed to access, inclusion, academic rigor, and positive societal impact.

What is the Brock Prize in Education Innovation?

The Brock Prize in Education Innovation is built upon the belief that the most important thing we do in life is to educate the next generation. Our mission is to reward IDEAS PROVEN TO ENHANCE EDUCATION. We value ideas with GLOBAL IMPACT, UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY, and A PROVEN TRACK RECORD.

The Prize consists of $50,000, a vellum certificate, and a bust of Sequoyah, and is awarded annually to an individual or team based upon the impact of their ideas and how they have shaped the broader education community.

A central focus of the Brock Prize is sharing these ideas with the broader education community. This is accomplished through the annual Brock Prize Symposium and our Best Ideas Network.
