Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Research, College of Education, The University of Texas at El Paso
Beverley Argus-Calvo is associate dean for graduate programs and research of the College of Education at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also an associate professor in the department of educational psychology and special services. Beverley earned her Ph.D. in bilingual special education from New Mexico State University. At the national level, she served as president of the Division for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners, a division of the Council for Exceptional Children.
She is a member of an international, interdisciplinary research team that investigates how schools address the educational needs of students living in vulnerable settings along the U.S.-Mexico Border. Her most recent research has focused on the mental health and academic-related issues that influence children and youth in schools.
