Superintendent, Union Public Schools

Dr. Kirt Hartzler is the superintendent of Union Public Schools. He holds bachelor’s degrees in social science and physical education from Evangel University, a master’s degree in education from Northeastern State University, and a doctorate in educational administration from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hartzler is a passionate champion for all students and is firmly committed to ensuring that Union provides a high quality, safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Central to this philosophy is building community partnerships. Under his leadership, Union has received recognition nationally as a leader in community schools, early childhood education, STEM, virtual education, and college/career readiness. Dr. Hartzler serves on the board of CAP Tulsa, Junior Achievement, Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice, and the United Suburban Schools Association. He also serves on the Oklahoma State Superintendent’s Advisory Council.
