Teresa Zutter has dedicated the past 35 years of her professional career to serving students with serious emotional, social and cognitive learning difficulties.

She administered the educational program at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, and was honored as Fairfax County Teacher of the Year and a finalist for the Virginia Teacher of the Year. Ms. Zutter served as principal of a middle school for students with serious emotional disabilities.

She later served as the Director of Alternative School Programs assisting 5000 students annually with a multiplicity of concerns. Ms. Zutter’s expertise in serving students with unique and complex needs has been requested on local, state, and national levels.

Ms. Zutter was the co-principal investigator, Youth of Promise Project, Krasnow Adolescent Learning Research Center, working to bridge the gap between brain research and educational practice.
