Join us on September 23, 2020 for the 19th annual Brock Prize Symposium with featured speaker, 2020 laureate, Dr. Tarajean Yazzie-Mintz (Diné). Dr. Yazzie-Mintz’ work will be featured at the Symposium, where she will lead a dialogue surrounding community-based inquiries strengthening indigenous education and communities. Dr. Yazzie-Mintz has committed her life to developing and implementing culturally–grounded educational programs and services for American Indian and Alaska Native children, their families, communities, and tribes. Through her leadership and vision in overseeing Wakanyeja (“Sacred Little Ones”) Early Childhood Education Initiative at the American Indian College Fund, Dr. Yazzie-Mintz positively impacted the lives of more than 4,000 children, 3,000 families, and 1,200 teachers in Indigenous communities. Dr. Yazzie-Mintz’ work will be featured at the Symposium, where she will lead a dialogue surrounding community-based inquiries strengthening indigenous education and communities. Dr. Yazzie-Mintz will be joined by key individuals, including representatives from local, tribal college, and national tribal sites.

This will be an incredible continuing education opportunity with relevance for educators, administrators, tribal leaders, and the higher education community (both students and faculty). It is free and open to the public. However, due to limited seating, advanced registration is required for attendance at the in-person event.
